How much does it cost
to rent an RV?

Alberta RV rental prices, explained. What you’ll pay by class, by season and by trip length — plus exactly what’s included and how to rent for less.

What does it cost to rent an RV in Alberta?

The price of an RV rental comes down to three things: the class of motorhome, the time of year, and how long you go for. As a planning guide, Alberta nightly rates run from about $120 for a compact campervan to $175–$230 for the family-favourite Class C motorhome, up to $260–$340 for a full Class A. Towable travel trailers start lower, around $95, but you’ll need a capable tow vehicle.

What’s included in the price?

A common surprise with the big chains is how much sits outside the headline nightly rate. With RV Best, every booking includes insurance and 24/7 roadside assistance. At booking you’ll see any add-ons clearly — things like a kilometre package, a generator, or a cleaning and supplies kit — so the price you see is the price you plan around.

  • Insurance & 24/7 roadside — included on every trip
  • Kilometres — a daily allowance with a clear per-km rate beyond it
  • Optional extras — generator, camping kit, delivery — shown up front
  • Security deposit — refundable, released after the unit is returned

How to rent an RV cheaper

The single biggest lever is timing. Mid-summer (July–August) is peak; if you can travel in June or September you’ll often pay noticeably less for the same unit, and Alberta’s mountains are just as good. Booking a full week typically unlocks a 10–15% discount over night-by-night rates, and a smaller campervan or compact Class C costs less to rent and far less in fuel than a big Class A.

Monthly & long-term RV rentals

Renting for a month or longer? Long-term rates are quoted separately and come in well below the nightly price — useful for extended trips, work placements or trying RV life before committing to ownership. Tell us your dates in the form below and we’ll send a monthly quote.

RV rental cost FAQ

A week in a Class C motorhome typically works out to roughly $1,200–$1,600 before extras, since weekly bookings usually include a 10–15% discount over the nightly rate. Campervans cost less and Class A units more.

The cheapest options are a compact campervan or a towable travel trailer, booked in shoulder season (June or September) for a full week. Smaller units also use far less fuel, which is often the biggest hidden cost of an RV trip.
